ISOMED PHARMA conducts the analysis of different samples of breath related to: detection of Helicobacter pylori (TAU-KIT®), intolerance to or malabsorption of lactose and other sugars detection, bacterial overgrowth and assessment of pancreatic and liver functions.

When received in ISOMED PHARMA’s facilities, samples are processed in the laboratory and results validated after going through an exhaustive quality control. Results are sent to samples’ center of origin and are always available on our website (only for TAU-KIT®) for customers wishing so (special registration process is required).
Hence, there is a fast delivery of results, which are available from anywhere and at any time through our On-line Results section.
ISOMED PHARMA can offer different equipments to analyze breath samples:
- Gas chromatographic detector coupled to an Isotope-Ratio Mass Spectrometer (IRMS)
- Isotopic Ratio Infrared Spectrometer
- Hydrogen (H24) Analyzers with or without correction of Carbon Dioxide (CO2)

TECHNOLOGY INFORMATION FACILITIES
The analyzers are connected ON-LINE to our DB system. This gives us greater control of the analytical process by eliminating transcription errors (not having to manually move the results from the analyzers to the database).
The computer system allows us to store analytical reports for years.
This system is ensured by a continuous power supply system, with daily backup copies. Only qualified and authorized persons have access to these data.
TAU-KIT® (13C Urea) When standardizing the process of breath samples analysis for Helicobacter pylori detection test, and complying in a better way with what is set out in the Spanish Royal Decree of 19th January 2008 approving the Regulation Development Law 15/1999 of 13th December on the Protection of Personal Data, ISOMED PHARMA has dissociated health data and patient identification data.
With this, our customers can now save time in identifying the samples. In addition, ISOMED PHARMA will comply with the protection of health data of patients, guaranteeing traceability and facilitating the work of customers in the unequivocal identification of TAU-KIT´S samples.
The use this system involves the following advantages:
- Faster analytical process
- Elimination of transcription errors as there is no need to manually move the results from the analyzers to the database (because only dealing with bar codes)
- Faster delivery of results, up to 48 hours of arrival of samples to ISOMED PHARMA
- Ability to deliver results via email, fax and/or printed forms
- Through our analysis section On-line Results, after registering, patients’ analytical results are available from anywhere and at any time
OTHER BREATH TESTS SUBSTRATES WITH CARBON 13 ( 13C) Delivery of results of these tests is made approximately within the next 72 hours after the breath samples receipt in our facilities. Results are sent via email, fax or printed forms.
BREATH TESTS SUBSTRATES NOT LABELED: HYDROGEN (H2) and METHANE (CH4) Delivery of results of these tests is made approximately within the next 7 to 10 days after the breath samples receipt in our facilities. Results are sent via email, fax or printed forms.
