LABORATORY

ISOMED is registered as a clinical laboratory for the analysis of breath test samples of TAU-KIT, and a variety of new non-radioactive 13 C breath test methods for the purpose of diagnosing the functionality of the pancreas, liver and digestive system. These tests are analysed through isotope ratio mass spectrometers installed within our laboratories.

Should you require information about the process of sample analysis please do not hesitate to contact us.

MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT

ISOMED is an authorised international distributor of laboratory measurement equipment necessary for the analysis of TAU-KIT, and a variety of non-radioactive 13 C breath test methods:

Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometers

ISOMED is a company with over 5 years experience working with all types of mass spectrometers for the analysis of 13 CO2 in breath samples. This equipment has an auto-sampler that can automatically analyse the breath samples of approximately 100 patients in about 6 hours. The breath samples contained in the exetainer tubes are easily transported and are preserved in a stable form for up to a year without requiring any special measure. This allows for the transportation of the breath samples by mail or courier. Therefore, the patient may undergo the breath test without having to be close to the equipment (not even requiring his presence in the same city). This equipment should ideally be installed in reference centres that analyse samples collected in a given geographical region.

We have highly qualified personnel that install and service the maintenance of this equipment. Should you be interested in obtaining more information regarding this equipment, please do not hesitate to contact us

Infrared Isotope Analysers

ISOMED is an authorised distributor of infrared spectrophotometers, specialised equipment of German engineering. This equipment analyses breath samples collected in the TAU-KIT tubes (10 ml) and determines the isotopic relation of 13 CO2 in the breath sample. It takes only two minutes from the time the samples are injected till the results are printed. This equipment is ideal for a doctor to have at his private practice so that he does not have to send the samples to another laboratory. Furthermore, the results may be given to the patient at the doctor' private practice. The price of this equipment is very reasonable since it is three times less the price of the average mass spectrometer. If you are interested in obtaining more information on this equipment please do not hesitate to contact us.

H2 Monitors and Gas Chromatographs.

Hydrogen (H2) is generated in the intestinal lumen through bacterial action on carbohydrates in the large or small intestine. This resultant H2 diffuses into the bloodstream and thence to the alveoli, after which it can be detected in expiratory air.

Levitt (1969) demonstrated the correlation between intestinal lumen H2 production and H2 excretion in expiratory air.  Thus, accurate measurement of H2 in parts per million (ppm) in expiratory air reveals abnormal breakdown and/or malabsorption of carbohydrates.

ISOMED offers the widest range of Hydrogen Monitors to fit each customer's individual needs.

The range of products include simple models that only measure H2 (non-portable and portable), a model that measures H2 and CH4 and finally the most comprehensive model that measures H2 CH4 and CO2.

Applications

  • Lactose Intolerance Diagnosis
  • Carbohydrate Malabsorption Detection
  • Carbohydrate Breakdown Deficiency Detection
  • Bacterial Overgrowth Diagnosis
  • Determination of Time Passage Through Gut

Advantages

  • Rapid and reliable diagnosis of intestinal problems
  • Low cost test
  • It does not require specialised personnel
  • Non-invasive method
  • Clinically tested
